Nail Polish Spam – bigger companies :)

E.g. not independent companies! Here are a bunch of photos for you… and also for me, to clear my desk at long last πŸ˜€

Here’s another pretty polish from Megan (seriously, chicky, do you have any ugly polishes? These are GORGEOUS!) this is Sinful Colors Timbleberry, one of my favourite types of colours, that almost neon coral pink.

Sinful Timbleberry

Two lovely even coats, no top coat πŸ™‚ I also added Color Club Snowflakes to my accent nail, and tips. Snowflake is a lovely green/blue/gold iridescent hex polish in a clear base, but I couldn’t get any good photos of them, they just kind of look like holes in the polish. Not so good.

STimbleberry

But, in real life, this was quite pretty indeed!

STimbleberry1

Next up is Orly Galaxy Girl, which is even prettier on the nail than in the bottle.

Orly Galaxy Girl

This is two coats, plus Misa BREAKneck topcoat.

Orly Galaxy Girl

The colours shifted between an auburn brown, teal/blue, and a gorgeous pinkish purple.

Orly Galaxy Girl

I didn’t think this would be as multi-chromatic on the nail, but it was more so!Β  Love this polish, easy, quick, and stunning. There hasn’t been one from this range (I believe it was the Out of this World range from Orly a few years ago) that I haven’t loved. Just straight out adore. The bottles (large!) the handles (rubbery, soft, perfect grip), the brushes (great!) the polish itself (stunning). Sigh. Thank you, Orly, for making these polishes. Please make more. I love them.

Orly Galaxy Girl

And here is Boe Beauty Ballet Pink. My Sister C bought me two Boe Beauty nail polishes for my birthday, and they were great, but I’ve never seen this brand here before. Then, lo! A stack of them in The Warehouse for $2 each! Allllll right! I got Black (which is black, two coater, nice), red, which I’ll swatch later, and this one.

boe ballet

I thought this would be a pale pink, but it’s more a very pale peach – I don’t have anything like this, and it’s really pretty.

boe ballet 3

Trouble is, it’s also really streaky – I guess the payoff for being not sheer, is streaks. It’s quite a harsh soft colour, if that makes any sense? Not twink like, but definitely polish, not a natural colour at all. I really like it. Woe on the streaks though.

boe ballet (2)

This is three coats plus top coat.

Ozotic Scatter 912 – review, layerings and swatches.

The second of four polishes sent for review, this is Ozotic Scatter 912 – a very pretty purple/gold shifting duochrome with irregular and highly sparkly holographic particles ‘scattered’ throughout.

Ozotic Scatter 912

Did you know, I thought this would be a layering polish? It’s not. This is two coats on it’s own, no top coat.

2013_01080016

Formula on this was perfect, and dry time was on the fast side of average.

2013_01080017

The colour shift is there, but not in-your-face, just a nice quiet change when you move your hands. The holographic particles are VERY blingy, but lie flat and are very smooth, too.

my fingers are underwater here, to see if the duochrome is more apparant. It isn't! :D

my fingers are underwater here, to see if the duochrome is more apparent. It isn’t! πŸ˜€

I was surprised by how dense this polish was! I did layer it, to see if it would make a difference.Β  From right to left (index to pinky), I used Kleancolor Black, Boe Beauty Purple Knights, L.A. Colors Cranberry Red, and Kleancolor White.

2013_01080030

Could you tell there were different colours underneath?

2013_01080032

Me, I can see that my little fingernail is slightly paler in tone – that was the one with the white base. Other then that, I can’t tell! Really, the only reason for layering this would be to save the polish or for doing a tape manicure or similar.

So, back to the original! Here it is again, two lovely coats of 912, and then I added one thin dabbed layer of Darling Diva Polish Chrome Job.

2013_01080047

I enjoyed the extra glitz, and the fact that you still get all the holographic sparks and colour shift of 912. Win!

2013_01080040

This was topped with a thick layer of Misa BREAKneck, though it needed Glitter Food or similar, as some of the large black hexes in Chrome Job have a curl to them, and I didn’t flick one over the right way and it’s poked at me all day.

2013_01080043

Still.. I like this. A lot.

piCture pOlish and Ozotic polishes can be bought from piCture pOlish online, or for us Kiwi’s, try Gracie Lou – and check them both out on Facebook too (piCture pOlish , Gracie Lou): they have specials, swatches, and information there that can’t be found anywhere else.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day! Oh, and if you are Facebook stalking, come say hello on my page – button is on the left hand side there!

*Disclosure: the Ozotic polish shown here, Scatter 912, was provided to me for review. All other polishes, bad cleanups, poor photography, overly wordy descriptions, opinions and random hand poses are entirely my own.*

Lush Lacquer Cruisin 4 a Bruisin & Boe Beauty Purple Knights Swatches

Birthday polishes! Birthday polishes from two sisters, independently chosen which work brilliantly together πŸ˜€

This is Boe Beauty (a new to me brand) in Purple Knights – a gorgeous blue based purple with blue and red shimmer- this was a present from Sister C – yippee!

These types of polish colours are some of my all time favourites! The formula on this was a bit runny, but quite workable, this is two coats here.

2012_12280006

Then I added on thin coat of Cruisin 4 a Bruisin – blue, black and mid purple matte in a clear base, part of Lush Lacquers Halloween range, I believe, and a birthday present from Sister V. Thanks, Sister V! I LOVE IT! πŸ˜€

Lush Lacquer Crusin 4 a Bruisin

This is my second Lush Lacquer polish, and so far I love them all – they are packed full of glitter, and apply almost as easily as a creme. Seriously. Just brush it on like normal, and done!

2012_12280011

*sighs in happiness*

2012_12280009

Then I matted it with Essie Matte About You:

And wore this for two days, showing everyone I could πŸ˜€

Thank you, Sisters V and C, for providing me with a perfect-for-me manicure! LOVE YOU!

Have a great day

Nail Mail and Birthday Hauls!

Some exciting new goodies for me to play with, some of which I already have been playing with and will be blogging about shortly.

Birthday Goodies! My birthday is on Christmas Day, which is fun. And this year my family happened to notice that I have a bit of a thing for nail polish. Possibly because I yak on about it a lot, or because I have half of them addicted to it, and am working on that other half (how about it, Sister C, Cousin F? It’s a lot of fun on the colourful side!)

Sister C bought me THESE amazing things: Nail Art Pens! But not just any nail art pens, these are super duper three-in-one beasts, two in each set (black and gold, silver/blue and pink)

2012_12290029

They have matching rhinestone bling.

2012_12290033

They have a thin nozzle

Nail Art Pen

AND they have a brush.

2012_12290032

So far I’ve used nozzle and blingies, and they work AWESOMELY.

AND she got me these three cuties: from left to right: Boe Beauty Champagne, Face of Australia Mystic Iris (yay, Iris!, plus, Face of AustraliaΒ  don’t test on animals! Whoop!) and Boe Beauty Purple Knights. Not shown is the Face of Australia lipgloss and WAH book of nail art she also got me, they are amazing πŸ™‚

2012_12290034

Sister V bought me these three stunners: Left to Right: Lush Lacquer Crusin 4 a Bruisin, Seas the Moment and Starry Nights. WHOA.

2012_12290035

Simply gorgeous.

2012_12290036

Then, nail mail! My order from Evil Shades finally turned up (I say finally because I ordered this on the 27th September, turned up just after Christmas). I have read that she has been very sick, and I hope she gets better soon. I thought these were lost, so am just happy I have them.

2012_12290037

Little sample of Orbs sparkle stuff, cute little lolly things, nail polishes in Pumpkin Queen (orange) and Out of the Corner of my Eye. They both look complex and interesting.

2012_12290038

And lipstick in Jenaveve! Funny little tube, intensely pigmented lipstick.

And because I find close up photos of my lips freaky, here are some lips on my hand! hehehehe

Jenaveve with flash... the Orbs sparkles are there above it, but washed out by the light.

and more.. you can see the sparkles ( Orbs) just up the top there. Very cute.

2012_12290044

And… my 365 Days of Color Mystery Christmas Bag! Wheeee!

2012_12290051

LOOK at all the goodies! This was a serious bargain, $15 US for all this.

2012_12290052

One of the main reasons I wanted to buy this was for the cuticle oil. I received Headless Horseman cuticle oil in the Halloween mystery bag, and loved it so much I wanted a back up, even though I’ve barely made a dent in it yet. And she sent Reindeer Poop, which is a very interesting scent indeed! Love the name πŸ˜€ AND two cuticle balms – Peppermint Bark: which smell divine. I love them all, and they all work incredibly well.

2012_12290054

The two polishes: I Stole Christmas (apparantly I’ve been bad this year, heheheh, which is GOOD because this is the one I preferred!) and Chemical Romance. Pretty, and both full sized! And an assortment of other totally cute Xmas things. Thanks so much, Sunny! I’m so coming back for more mystery bags if you do anymore.

2012_12290055

And finally, Ninja Polish recently released a bunch of discontinued Ozotics, and I KNEW my Sister V was craving some of them, big time. So I got her some as an early birthday present, and threw a couple of extras in for me (of course!)

I got her these gorgeous ones…

2012_12290058

see? Unfortunately I waffled a bit deciding on mine, and one of her wants got cart jacked. But I got her another one instead! πŸ˜€ (whoops, sorry V!)

2012_12290060

Ozotics: 505, 515, 526 and 532

And for me, I bought Jessica Cinnamon Kiss, and A-England Holy Grail (the new revamped version). WHOA. So pretty

2012_12290061

Look at the lush glowing colours!

2012_12290062

I feel so lucky! And on that note I shall go and look at my pretties some more πŸ˜€

Have a great day
