Kleancolor Metallic Aqua: Swatches

This is Kleancolor Metallic Aqua – an aptly named polish! It’s metallic, and it’s aqua. Yes. Although, compared to some of the metallic polishes out now, I’d class this one as a foil. It’s a beauty though, reminds me of Easter Egg wrappers. Mmmmm chocolate.

These swatches are two thin coats, the formula was as close to perfect as you could really want. Be warned, use a base coat, and even so be prepared for some skin smurf-type stainage, this polish ran on removal. Look how pretty it is in the sunshine though!

And whole-hand photo..

I did use a top coat, although Metallic Aqua was plenty blingy enough on it’s own. I used Kleancolor Fast Dry Top Coat: don’t be fooled by the name, it’s not a fast dry. Sigh. Ah well, it’s a top coat anyway. 50% correct name.

My mother commented on how she liked the aqua colour, but probably couldn’t wear it at work. Which got me thinking; how to reduce the bright blue a bit to make it more work friendly? Oh, yes, ok Dreamy by Darling Diva Polish. Don’t mind if I do. 😀

in the shade…

I had one moderately thick coat of Dreamy on all nails except the index finger, which has two. You can still see that this is blue, and the shiny sneaks through the silver Dreamy, but it’s all a bit more subdued. And then, in the sunlight…

Hello, holo!

Ok, it’s still no Layla, but it’s not far off – and it’s much nicer to use, and less expensive so you can afford to use it. I read somewhere that Mercury Twilight (the silver Layla holographic) can be used as a top coat. Guffaw? Did I ever. That’s not in my budget – but this is *beams*

And another photo…

Have a great day!

  1. They look lovely – especially on that last photo with all the colours in the sunshine!
